Where our electric data comes from
Every electric bike on Bike Picker has its specs cross-referenced against multiple sources. Here's the tiered methodology, ranked by how authoritative each source is:
Manufacturer sites
Our primary source for peak power, battery capacity and voltage, range, charge time, suspension travel, brakes, wheels, wheelbase, seat height and weight. We pull directly from:

Where data still has confidence gaps
Pricing is the least settled figure on this page. Much of the segment sells direct, discounts are frequent, and a bike's list price and its everyday price can differ by several hundred dollars. Beyond that, some brands publish no charge time, frame material or tire sizes at all. Where that's the case the field is left blank rather than filled with a plausible guess.
How we handle battery capacity
Battery size is listed in kilowatt hours, which is the figure that actually tells you how much energy is on board. Makers often headline the pack's voltage and amp hours instead, so where only those are published we multiply them out. A 72V 40Ah pack is 2.88 kWh. Voltage on its own says nothing about capacity: it sets how hard the bike can push, not how far it can go.
How we handle power (peak vs. nominal)
Electric makers publish two power figures: a peak output the motor can hit in bursts, and a much lower nominal rating it can hold continuously. We list peak, converted from kilowatts to horsepower so it sorts alongside the rest of the site. Expect nominal to be roughly half of it. A bike quoting 6.5 kW peak is often rated 3 kW continuous.
Why there's no ride time
Competition electrics sometimes quote a ride time in hours rather than a range in miles. Almost none of them publish one, and how long a battery lasts depends so heavily on how the bike is ridden that a single number is close to meaningless. We don't carry it.
How we handle range
Range is the manufacturer's own claim, and it's almost always measured at a constant low speed in the most economical ride mode. Ridden hard off-road you should expect a fraction of it. Treat range as a way to rank bikes against each other rather than a promise about your day out.
How we handle weight
Weight is the manufacturer's figure including the battery pack, which is usually the heaviest single component. Where a maker publishes both a dry and a curb weight we use curb. Some quote dry weight without labeling it, which is one reason a few of these bikes read lighter on paper than they feel to pick up.
How we handle suspension travel
Travel figures are how far the wheelmoves, not how far the shock compresses. Some makers publish the shock's stroke instead, and the two can differ by a factor of three. Where a published figure is clearly stroke rather than wheel travel we keep it out of the travel column and note it on the suspension description instead.
New & announced models
This segment moves quickly and models are often replaced without an announcement, while dealers carry on selling the previous version under the same name. We check each manufacturer's current lineup rather than dealer listings, so a bike you've seen reviewed recently may not appear here if the maker has already moved on from it.
